PRELIM: Editing

This post is how we edited our clip to produce the final product, which is below: 

This is the first part of our editing process. We put all the footage clips into Premiere along with the audio from the original. We then had to match up all the takes of each shot to the right audio section as well as we could while also making sure the clips were in chronological order. To help us with this stage we used markers to mark out the important parts of the audio. We used the cutting tool to trim videos when we liked specific parts of it. To make sure we had the correct visuals we always referred back to the original clip.

Here we began to  pick the best shots out of all the takes we had taken and shorten down to the length of our clip. We worked on some of the speeds of some of the clips to make sure the audio was spot on. We then joined them together to get a rough draft of our clip.

Once all clips were in the order we were happy with them and the audio matched, we moved onto colour correcting. We wanted a bluish tint to the video as the original had one and we really liked the effect this had.

To change the colour on the video, we used the section in Premiere called 'Colour Balance'. This allowed us to mess around with different colour mixes and shades of blue before we got the correct one. To achieve the blue tinge in the video we upped the blue tones in the videos visual.

To ensure we kept the colour consistent all the way through the clip, we copied the effect and pasted it to all the individual clips.

Overall, I think that the clip looks really good and is almost exact to the original. We did have to change some shots due to layout/space but I think it worked to our advantage in the end.

This is mine and Hibah's storyboard. We have drawn and described the shots that we think are key in this clip. We looked at our clip in detail and tried to get all the details to make sure that we could recreate the clip as best as we could. This has helped us as we know what the different camera placement are and has helped us to plan out the clip scene by scene.
