Premiere Tickets
I advertised our premiere all over school by putting messages up on whiteboards. This was helpful because it got more audience members to come to see our trailer and more people knowing about it too. These are two of the advertisements I put up:
I researched some premiere tickets online and these are what I found:
Using these I made my own and handed them out to people. They had the poster on them so helped us to promote our trailer further. These are two recipients of the tickets:
Ticket Front:
Ticket Back:
These are the slides Hibah, my partner, created for the Premiere. I contributed to the magazine slide the most as I primarily created it. Here are the slides:
All these elements allowed us to promote our trailer in the best ways possible and to get the word of our trailer out as much as possible. It allowed us to get feedback with more audience and a more informed audience as we got as much information to them through these marketing techniques.

Magazine Shots/Use of Mise-en-scene
These are the images I took for the magazine front cover. My actress wore two different jumpers during this photoshoot to see which would photograph better.

Research into Film/Empire House Styles
This post is my research into the different horror and film magazines.
Total Film
Features: Includes real media texts e.g. Iron Man, Harry Potter etc. linking it to the film industry. It includes the actor and the film they are promoting. Plus extras that the reader might find inside this issue. There is also the offer of a free poster if you buy this issue.
Image: There is only one person in the image. This actor is in character, so straight away the audience knows the film that the magazine is promoting this issue. It isn't in front of plain white background either, the background is blue with a big gate, playing on the line 'Welcome to Wonderland' almost as if the Mad Hatter is inviting the reader in. Johnny is looking straight into the camera.
Date/Price/Issue: This is the smaller text in the dip of the M. This is the March 2010, Issue 164. As its a British magazine the price is £2.99. It also has the Total Film website if the reader wanted to see more.
Masthead: It sits behind the model like the previous one and Total is within the 'F' of film.
Features: This one has more features on the cover. Includes actors names and real media texts e.g. Simon Pegg on Mission Impossible 4. It includes the actor and the film they are promoting. It offers 3 covers to collect leading readers to buy multiple copies.
Image: There is only one person in the image. This actor is in character, so straight away the audience knows the film that the magazine is promoting this issue. The background is read and has lightning bolts which links with Harry's forehead scar. Daniel's angle of gaze is right into the camera.
Date/Price/Issue: This is the November 2010, Issue 173. It doesn't include a price but does have the website on there.
Features: Includes real media texts e.g. Daredevil, X-Men 2 etc. The main attention is on Lord of the Rings. There's a pull quote from the article inside plus exclusive access behind the battles in the film. This issue is also offering free posters relating to the film. The angle of gaze for Elijah and Orlando is into the camera whereas Viggo is looking past the camera.
Image: There are three people on this cover. One main actor up front and two behind him. They are all in costume so the reader knows what film is being promoted. The background is a green colour and it looks like there is a forest behind them.
Date/Price/Issue: This is the smaller text under the 'F'. It is the January 2003, Issue 72. It cost £3.99.
All three of these magazines don't seem to have a strict format in terms of where things are place/laid out except for the masthead as in all the examples, it is behind the actors/models. Plus it is also white in all three.
Fangoria
Features: There aren't that many features on this cover. Its very simple and minimalist. There are 10 pages on Friday the 13th, the main film promotion. Then on the left side there are some real media texts e.g. Underworld, Uninvited etc. It entices the reader in with 'Jason's New Slays' intriguing them to know who is going to die and what the new film entails
Image: There is only one person in the image and they are in character (Jason). Its in front of a plain background which is a greyish colour.
Price/Region: This is the smaller text above the barcode. It costs $9.99 in U.S and Canada
Masthead: It is red which links with the colour scheme across the whole front cover. It is also in front of the image.
Features: There aren't that many features on this cover. Its very simple and minimalist. The main focus is on the film The Shining and Jack Nicholson. There are three articles on the left: The terror factor, Savini strikes back - Maniac! and Alien creatures of Galaxina. There is also mention of monsters and aliens under the masthead. On the left it says the HITCHCOCK legacy linking it to real life directors as well as production companies e.g. Hammer House Horror.
Image: There is only one person in the image and they are in character (Jack Nicholson). Its in front of a plain background which is a greyish colour with a smoky effect
Price/Region: This is the smaller text next to the A. It costs $1.95 and 85p in the UK. It also says #7 meaning it's 7th issue.
Both of these have a vague format in which the image is the main focus and then 3 or 4 side articles are placed on the left. The barcode is on the bottom left corner and the film that is being promoted has its title in big, bold font spread across the middle-bottom
Masthead: It is red which is the colour of the logo in general (This only tends to change when it is a particular movie special edition). It hasn't got any outlines making it look flat on the page.
Features: There's a small bit on the promoting film: Bloody Hell Harry. There are a list of real media texts e.g. Star Trek, Watchmen tec. The bottom bar also includes some real media texts.
Image: There is only one person in the image and they are in character (Harry). He is bloody and has broken glasses relating to the pull quote 'Harry come out fighting.' It's a closeup image and has a blue background with smoke.
Date/Price: This is the smaller text in the dip of the M. It is the August 2008 issue and cost £3.90 and $9.99 USD.
Masthead: It is red which is the colour of the logo in general (This only tends to change when it is a particular movie special edition). It has got white outlines making it look like its coming off the page.
Features: The Twilight font is bold and yellow which draws the reader in. They are also saying that there are 2 bonus covers inside that have Bella and Jacob on them. There is a special on the anniversary of 30 years of Alien. They have also drawn the audience in with puns e.g. Fangtastic exclusive and with the addition of real media texts e.g. Nine, Winona Ryder.
Image: There is only one person in the image and they are in character (Edward). He is neat and immaculate with golden brown eyes. The background of the image is plain black to focus attention on Robert Pattinson
Date/Price: It is the Dec 2009 and cost $8.95
Masthead: It is red which is the colour of the logo in general (This only tends to change when it is a particular movie special edition). It hasn't got any outlines making it look flat on the page.
Features: The colour scheme links to the character on the front cover which is the Joker. There are several fonts that link to the promoting film. Meet the Joker is in a stamped like font and the pull quote has a handwritten feel to it almost like a letter written in jail. There are real media texts e.g. Sweeney Todd, The Mummy 3 etc. and the top bar specifies it is a Dark Knight exclusive.
Image: There is only one person in the image and they are in character (Harry). He is in jail which is the background the reader can see.
Date/Price: This is the smaller text in the dip of the M. It is the January 2008 issue and cost £3.80 and $9.99 USD.
The Empire magazines tend to have a format they have to follow. The masthead must be at the top of the page. From the examples above, it should be red. There is a llist of real media texts in the majority of Empire magazine.
From this research, we decided Empire would be better as it has a broad range of genres that it promotes letting us be more flexible when promoting our film.

Poster Font & Image Decisions
This is about the image and font we picked for our poster.
Tagline - IT'S IN HER: We made it grey so it doesn't distract too much from the image but draws the audiences attention to it. It is in the font 'Source Sans Pro Extra' in size 36pt.
Tagline - REFLECTION: It is white so it stands out from the first line but still lets the audience focus on the image. It is the same font but in size 48pt.

A FILM BY HIBAH JAN & HANNAH T-J: This is in the font 'Source Sans Pro Extra Light' so it links to the tagline but doesn't distract the audience as this has to be small at the bottom. It is white and the top line is size 14pt and the bottom line is 12pt.
Fine Print: This is all the same font - Source Sans Pro Extra Light and is size 9pt-12pt. This is small as this is just the credits that go to the costume director etc.
